Share Paper: Combining face-to-face teaching with a MOOC in an introductory course for Computer Science.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe an experience that has improved academic results as well as student motivation, by combining the online material of an MOOC with in-class teaching and interacting directly with the students. The proposed methodology is based on the use of flipped learning techniques in an introductory course for an ICT bachelor's degree. The students acquire the knowledge interactively at home, through a self-learning process, where they would watch video-lectures, do self-evaluation tests and use other online resources.
