A Chatbot API for Programming Education
Async Paper Presentation

Abstract: This paper proposes a chatbot application programming interface (API) for programming education. In Japanese junior high schools, students learn programming using two-way network communication. Chatbots are introduced in textbooks as an example of such software. However, it is difficult for students to create chatbots that run on servers. Therefore, we developed a chatbot API that students can use programmatically. This function is provided as a Web API so that students can be aware of network communication. We used this API in a class of 58 first-year university students. The results of the study questionnaire showed that students understood the program and were able to create a chatbot.
