Abstract: This paper presents a review of the literature pertaining to online teacher induction programs, and a study in progress of an online environment for a beginning teacher cohort. Induction programs for beginning teachers are common, as states, schools, and programs seek to retain teachers in the profession by providing mentoring support. However, online programs are less common: eight major studies were reviewed and examined. Generally, online programs utilize discussion forums, e-mail list-servs, or a combination of the two.
