Abstract: In the ever-changing nature of modern society, one of the challenges is to prepare students with the required literacy skills for them to be successful in their future positions and in everyday life. To do this, teachers must be prepared to teach related content with appropriate methodology. This study addresses how and to what extent does explicit goal-setting and tracking impact student achievement in a site-based, year-long elementary teacher education program.
