Abstract: This article discusses the importance of integrating cartoon and animation technology into all content areas. Technology is in the classroom; however, the applications being used are primarily to encourage writing. Programs such as Automatoon and Pixton go beyond writing and allow the user to create cartoons and animations to demonstrate their understanding of content through creation. These programs can be used as teaching aids as well as an option for individual or collaborative student projects. Suggestions are given for implementation in a variety of content areas.
