Abstract: This article reports on findings from a qualitative research study that investigated the use of information technology among high school teachers. In this particular paper the focus is on teachers’ activities outside of the classroom. This study examines the nature of technology use from the teachers’ perspectives so as to understand their subjective experiences in their work context, as well as how technology is finding its way into their day-to-day activities. The results from the study provide guidance to practitioners and school administrators who direct resources for teachers’ continuous professional development with respect to technology; and for designers of information technologies seeking to find the right solution for teachers.
