Abstract: This brief paper proposes the need to conduct a study on a computer-mediated communication project between an elementary school and a Magnet high school that examines the demand of teachers’ proficiency in their technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) and the effects on student attitudes and performance in a west Texas borderland city. Investigating this rare phenomenal of technology use by and between students in the regional area serves to contribute an insight of the transition process towards 21st century learning, one where technology is used as a tool and resource for accessing information and constructing knowledge by means of student production of artifacts.
