Universal Consciousness Meets Educational Technology Standards: Prospects for Transformational Learning
Abstract: This paper explores how the skills and competencies which make up the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) relate to the development of universal consciousness. Universal consciousness, also known as empathic consciousness, or the 21st century enlightenment is the awareness that one is connected to, and shares an essential commonality with humanity, as well as all other life forms and energies. NETS skills and competencies, such as creativity and inventiveness, collaboration, and practice in solving “real-world” (authentic) problems are components of universal consciousness. Development of NETS skills and competencies, in turn, can raise universal consciousness, and result in releasing untapped human potential.
