Abstract: Google+ can serve as a powerful tool for educators. This workshop will explore various assets that allow students and educators to create rich collaborative environments that support learning opportunities. Google+ provides access to an array of Google tools—from standing favorites, such as YouTube and Picasa—to new ones, such as Hangouts and Circles. Google+ can be used to support activities such as collaborative projects, student advisement, course assignments, and more. This is a BYOD workshop, and participants should have a Google+ account to get the most from this event.

Qualifications

All presenters—Lisa Thuman, Chris Penny, and Mike Searson—have attended the Google Teacher Academy. Thuman is a Certified Google Trainer. All three have presented on Google tools in education in the past. Moreover, they have had hands-on experience with using Google tools in educational settings. Collectively, they have worked with educators at all levels on implementing Google tools in education. Presently, they are working on implementing Google+ to support educational initiatives at their respective institutions.
