Abstract: For all teacher preparation programs pursuing NCATE accreditation, the Unit’s Assessment System exists to manage information; ultimately for Unit and Program improvement. Like all systems, the assessment system exists within and for a specific contextual purpose; namely, to collect information from all Unit participants and report information out to external recipients. The various inputs need to be managed in a sane way, so the information meshes carefully with the rest of the system.
