Designing New Interpretations: Innovative Practices in a Children’s Literature Course
Roundtable
ID: 44472
Abstract: This study examined how pre-service teachers enrolled in a children’s literature course constructed meaning in transaction with the various semiotic resources made available in contemporary picturebooks. The purpose was to understand how pre-service teachers designed multimodal compositions in response to contemporary picturebooks. We examined the multimodal design to understand how students used various modes across analytic structures to represent their interpretations.
