Abstract: There is ample evidence that people often work collaboratively to search for information, and a number of collaborative search tools that allow people to find, save, manage, and share information collaboratively have been developed to support shared search tasks. However, little empirical research has been done to investigate actual users’ use of those tools in a learning context. Therefore, there is a need to observe learners’ real-world collaborative search behaviors and interactions with these tools. To address this need, six four-member groups were recruited to use a collaborative search tool for a learning task. Data was collected through group journals and analyzed using content analysis.
