Abstract: The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is launching a program called ISTE Recognition for Higher Education Programs to recognize and celebrate pre-service and advanced degree programs that provide high quality learning opportunities for educators aligned to the ISTE Standards for Educators. The ISTE Standards for Educators provide a framework for rethinking education, adapting to a constantly changing technological landscape in education and preparing students to enter an interconnected global economy. Programs that undergo the rigorous ISTE Higher Education Recognition Review process demonstrate their commitment to building practice and skills aligned to the ISTE Standards for Educators. Upon a successful review, ISTE verifies alignment and awards an ISTE Seal of Recognition. Programs awarded a Seal of Recognition may elect to pursue an ISTE credentialing program for their graduates. Developing a higher education learning environment steeped in alignment with ISTE Standards for Educators and creating a pipeline of graduates with ISTE certification promises to be a ‘game-changer’ for education’s capacity to empower PK-12 students for their future.
