A Comparative Study of the Cognition of Educational Games' Functions in China and America ——A Case Study of Educational Game Cooperation between Chinese and American Universities

Abstract: In order to explore the view of the role of educational games in the cross-cultural context, the reliability and validity of the questionnaires were tested by using the feedback data of two rounds of questionnaire and the questionnaire items were divided into four dimensions according to the factor analysis method. Then, the paper analyzes the data of pre-test and post-test of the cooperation between Chinese and American design educational games. This paper focuses on the entries with the significant differences or the convergence of the views between the Chinese and US sides of the comparison data. The results show that China and the United States have different views on the role of computer games and educational games. Finally, on the basis of cultural differences and other factors, this paper explains the similarities and differences between Chinese and American views on the function of educational games.
