OERs in Curriculum and Instruction for Adult Learning: Theories and Best Practice
Abstract: Open Educational Resources (OERs) are increasingly developed and acknowledged by educators and business trainers today. OERs are located in the public domains, free and can be included in courses, particularly in online courses. The Curriculum and Instruction for Adult Learning is an advanced course that presents the principles and practices of adult learning and instruction in a higher educational setting in Southeast of U.S.A. In fall 2019, the presenter transformed this course from a traditional cause to a fully online course. OERs have been adopted in the course theoretically and practically. This paper is to present those OERs explored and selected by the presenter, discuss the impact of integration on teaching, and share the challenges the presenter has faced, achievements the presenter feels proud of, and lessons the presenter has learned during the practice.
