Twitter to Learn? Middle and High School Teachers’ Report on Their Use of Twitter
Virtual Paper
ID: 56457
Abstract: Studies have found that teachers are using Twitter to support their professional learning. This study investigated the use of Twitter by 41 middle and high school teachers who responded to an online survey and compared results with a previous study of elementary school teachers. Findings seemed to indicate that there are similarities with how teachers in the middle and upper grades used Twitter. All grade levels appear to access resources and ideas, as well as participate in moderated Twitter chats. However, teachers of middle and high school grade levels may be less likely to incorporate new ideas learned from moderated Twitter chats into their teaching than elementary school teachers.
