Abstract: Environmental education is an effective interdisciplinary umbrella under which elementary school teachers can teach: students can use environmental topics, issues, and methods to enhance skills in math, reading, writing, social studies, art, and music as well as science. We worked with an elementary school to integrate StoryMaps into the curriculum and this presentation will share the lessons we learned. The presentation will share tools and frameworks (ArcGIS StoryMaps, Earth Systems Journey) as well as professional development design and examples of StoryMaps constructed by teachers and students.
