Exploring the Use of 360-Degree Video in Teacher Preparation
Abstract: Classroom video has often been used as a tool to enhance preservice teacher education by allowing a teacher to focus their attention on key aspects of the learning. However traditional video is limited in that the user has no control over the part of the scene the video captured. 360-degree video is a new technology which eliminates the need to define a specific frame or perspective and expands the video capture to the whole setting. This paper describes in-progress research into how 360-degree video impacts preservice teachers’ video study reflections in comparison with static, traditional video.
