Abstract: In this session, we will explore and discuss Twitter as a tool for preservice and inservice teachers to build and maintain professional learning networks (PLNs). Specifically, this session will review findings of a preliminary research study with preservice teachers through a connected learning lens. Twitter can be an equalizing force within education where diverse communities can use their collective voice to discuss themes common to individual groups. Chats and hashtags are further impactful when inservice/preservice teachers can use them for personal and professional growth and resources. In this session, we will discuss these findings and implications while soliciting suggestions for future iterations of this work with other teacher educators and education professionals.
