Abstract: This paper uses the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework to explore the support given to 23 international educators as they transitioned to online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey, conducted in November 2020, explored a number of issues relating to the participants' experience of the pivot to online learning during the spring of 2020. This paper focuses on the type of institutional support provided to the educators, who work in a wide range of educational institutions and settings. After analysing the quantitative data which gave an insight into the type of support provided and the educators’ own experiences during this period, a thematic approach was used to code the open-ended responses of participants The findings indicate that the majority of the support was focussed on the technical aspects of the transition and suggests that online pedagogy was somewhat neglected, as was the recognition of these aspects to align and work in conjunction with one another while teaching online.
