Abstract: This paper will describe the outcomes of a study designed to explore teacher candidates perceived understanding of integrated cross-discipline lesson planning and the use of Environmental Education curriculum as a model for STEM/STEAM. If we are to prepare teacher candidate to deliver effective cross-discipline integrated instruction that moves beyond linear delivery of singular content, then we must go back to basics and establish a sound understanding of the practices of delivering cross-discipline integrated lessons; moving away from siloed content delivery. The findings from this study will provide insights into teacher candidate preparation focused on integrated cross-discipline instructional development.
