Abstract: In this session, the presenter(s) will invite participants to rethink their curriculum and pedagogy through the lens of creativity and equity embedded in the Reggio maker space approach. Participants will identify Reggio principles, examine artifacts and materials, and analyze maker space relevance in their contexts for inclusivity. The "learning by doing" constructionist pedagogy and hundred languages of expression in Reggio maker space embraces UDL principles as learners express their identities through materials. The curriculum in the Reggio maker space is flexible and driven by the learner's explorations. Maker-based explorations facilitate creativity and computational thinking while honoring each learner's individuality and intersectional identities to create equitable learning. The presenter(s) will share examples and insights for the design and implementation of Reggio-inspired maker space.
