Moving Forward: Preparing Teachers Candidates to Use Learning Management Systems
Abstract: The pivot from traditional face-to-face delivery to fully online instructional formats was a shock to the global education system. Drawing attention to the lack of preparation many teachers had in the area of online instructional development and delivery. In response, faculty from a regional university in the Southeast United States redesigned their required educational technology course to be inclusive of instruction and applied practice focused on the skills and knowledge needed to develop expertise in the use of a learning management system in the EC-12 learning environment. The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the relationship between teacher candidates' attitude toward use, intent to use, perceived ease-of-use, and perceived usefulness towards the use of an LMS in EC-12 classroom after completing the technology course. Additional data will be collected in spring 2023 to extend the study.
