Abstract: The presented study investigates the effects of person centered, technology enhanced courses on interpersonal communication and community building in academic environments. The courses are aimed at addressing learners at all levels - intellect, skills and attitudes and include structured face-to-face workshops and person centered encounter groups that are accompanied by online reflection, teamwork, and evaluation. Students’ online reflections and the results of the online evaluation show that students experience an enhancement of attentive listening and respectful climate in an instance of the course as well as an improvement of their communication in teamwork.
