Abstract: Abstract: With the emphasis on student-centered instructional strategies, formative assessments provide a necessary means to help both instructors and students adjust their teaching/learning skills to achieve goals set for a course. Those who attend the roundtable will be able to differentiate between formative and summative assessments, identify and discuss effectiveness of online WebCT tools that might be used for formative assessment, and identify principles of effective online formative assessment based on best teaching practices
