Abstract: For numerous students, the mobile phone is an essential tool of communication in everyday life. Mobile phones are used not only for talking but also for sending text messages. Moreover, students use mobile phones as a tool for writing texts. The extent of use of mobile phones might influence the writing process. This study aims to examine the effect of the use of mobile phones on the writing process. It also examines this effect and compares it with the use of computers. This paper shows the results of a preliminary investigation.
