Share Paper: Applying a painterly methodology to hyper-mediated knowledge construction in sustainability education

Abstract: Linking and traversing the spaces between painting, hyper-media and their application to sustainability education may at first seem a slightly irrational undertaking. However the potential of painterly approaches for learning with hypermedia and their significance for learning sustainability through different forms of consciousness are well indicated. Taking different traverses it is possible to construct a holistic understanding beyond technical rationalism and conventional assumptions. Ways of networking that start with artistic and aesthetic modes of discovery and progress from informal learning to formal learning, through collaboration and portfolio schools, may radically change the relationship between grassroots practices and formal/higher education.
