Abstract: The use of information and communication technology in educational settings is developing rapidly, mainly due to the many assumed benefits relating to the use of computer mediated communication (CMC). Computer conferencing (CC) is considered to be one of the more useful elements of CMC and it is increasingly becoming a significant component in many higher education courses delivered or supported by electronic means.
