The Design and Development of an E-Learning Instruction that Integrates Problem-Based Learning Strategy for Convenience Stores New Employee Training
Abstract: In Taiwan, the human resource management offices of convenience stores have been facing many problems, such as the high number of staff and fast turnover. Although the overall performance might be affected, it is difficult if not impossible for the human resource management offices to invest more money in on-the-job-training for their staffs due to cost considerations. Under the circumstances, e-Learning could be a potential approach to resolve the problems. The purpose of this study was to design and develop an e-learning instruction that integrated problem-based learning strategy for convenience stores new employee training. To ensure the quality of e-learning instruction, we utilized the instructional system design (ISD) model in the design and development processes. It is hoped that the e-learning instruction integrated with problem-based learning strategy will enhance new employees’ performance at their workplaces.
