Abstract: With a sample 117 EMBA students from three classes, the current research assessed the effects of Internet self-efficacy, leadership emergence, and personality on the Web discussion participation in asynchronous learning environments. Using the total time on the learning platform and the total number of threads as the dependent variables, two separate regression models were developed. Important variables that were identified included web experience, leadership emergence, satisfaction with the team, and personality. Unlike many early studies, Internet self-efficacy was left out of both models. The reasons for the exclusion and its implications were discussed.
