Abstract: A pilot study involving several home-bound students was carried out in Southern Louisiana. The students were connected to their schools using the Skype technology. The related problems and ways to solve them are discussed. The main conclusion is that the Skype technology can be effective in providing the home-bound with an almost “being there” opportunity to be involved in the classroom learning; however, motivation is the strongest factor of the effectiveness.
