Abstract: Constructivism is a learning theory which holds that meaning is constructed in our minds as we interact with the physical, social, and mental worlds we inhabit. This session will provide a brief overview of constructivist theory and its variants(cognitive constructivism, social constructivism, constructionism, situated cognition, distributed learning) with particular attention devoted to their implications for the field of educational technology.
