Abstract: We address the problem of matching course syllabi across different universities, even though they are expressed in different languages. Based on an extension of the Explicit Semantic Analysis approach, we use the knowledge contained in Wikipedia as an implicit touchstone to discover relations among University syllabi. Using the Wikipedia interlink feature, we are also able to match syllabi expressed in different language. In the paper we briefly describe the technique, and report the results of a preliminary case-study.
