Share Paper: Developing Effective Online Course Orientations: Using Mastery Learning Strategies to Prepare Students in Online Spanish Courses

Abstract: This presentation proposal describes the process of converting an on-campus orientation meeting to a series of online learning modules for use in two beginning Spanish courses. These modules are used to present course requirements, describe the use of course resources, and show how to use the course technologies. An analysis of design and development approaches as well as lessons learned are discussed.
