Longitudinal Program Evaluation: A Case Study of an Online Program’s Ten-Year Reunion
Abstract: This case study describes planning and conducting longitudinal research of an online masters in educational technology. In Spring 2011, researchers met to consider strategies for conducting longitudinal research on individuals who had participated in an online masters program over 10 years from Spring 2000 to Spring 2010. This case study provides an initial discussion of this retrospective research project, including project development, developing a framework, contacting past students, considering a reunion, and following up as needed. Some preliminary results are shared. Future research from the project will analyze findings from discussions, surveys, focus groups, interviews, and social network analysis.
