Abstract: Virtual Social Networks are one of the most important ways of communication today. Its applications extend to forms of relationships between companies and their consumers. The main question posted here is if Twitter generates its own agenda settings. In order to analyze these new forms of use of these technologies, it is necessary the development of software tools for collecting and analyzing online data. The first objective of this study was to assist in developing an automated tool to collect data on Twitter, and develop a database that allows the analysis necessary. Another objective was to search for cross data publication among profiles of some Brazilian newspaper on Twitter. The analysis content method was used and it was observed that, at least for this small universe of information, Twitter did not generate data for itself.
