Abstract: This paper is to investigate whether there are significant differences between proficient and less-proficient students in their perceptions of the PBL approach used to learn a second language. Totally, 42 university students in Taiwan joined the study using the Internet to learn English as a second language. A PBL questionnaire was used to collect the data. As shown in the questionnaire, the participants generally agreed that the PBL approach is a useful method to improve their English.
