Share Paper: Thriving Online Involvement of International Students for Improving Student Services in U.S. Colleges

Abstract: With the increasing number of international students coming to the US to pursue postsecondary education, student affairs professional related international education and international student services are facing the challenges of reaching out to international students who resides in other countries before they arrive in the US institutions. Given the importance of pre-departure training to student’s success, this paper discusses about online learning initiatives to improve the effectiveness of pre-departure orientation. Recommendations of online learning and social environment contents and delivery methods will be presented as well as the challenges of taking these initiatives.
