Abstract: In this paper, we report on the results of a study on the introduction and use of tablet PCs in schools in Japan. There were two types of tablet PCs introduced into elementary schools. There were tabular types and convertible types. Furthermore, there were tablets used for general and educational purposes. The educational type of tablet called CM1. The method of utilizing tablets in lesson had two types. There were a method for mastering knowledge, and a method for utilizing the mastered knowledge. We clearly found that the utilization of tablet PCs give students a deeper understanding of the class contents.
