Abstract: SNS like facebook has been widely recognized and used for learning purposes. Its positive usefulness for collaborative learning and knowledge sharing purposes have been identified. Yet, the study proposes its major benefit is to promote affective learning. With 22 college students in a pre-service teacher program, the study identified the apparent characteristics of SNS for learning in a higher education setting. That is, the study results show its main strengths and weaknesses for college students’ learning.
