Abstract: The objective of this research is to develop and evaluate flip teaching materials in order for university students who want to become teachers to learn the method of operating a gas detector tube system. The mechanism for these teaching materials involves the students using tablet PCs to view class scenes depicted as manga and to read explanations of the operation of the gas detector tube system. Manga is multi-story that is handled in the explanations; nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. The learners are able to read from anywhere in the manga but not to complete unless all the scenes are read. In the results of an evaluation experiment using 50 university students, the teaching material was evaluated to be effective from the questions of the learning effects.
