Abstract: The affordances of online collaboration platforms make them increasingly popular. Although many of these platforms are well designed, very often, teams adopting these platforms in their projects realize little value because of the lack of engagement and collaboration in these platforms. Gamification has emerged as having broad applicability in a plethora of domains and contexts.
