Abstract: This paper reports the results of the research project in which playful learning materials were explored in 10 Finnish and 1 Singaporean kindergarten and preschool classes. The materials that were examined in the study are part of the Angry Birds Playground concept. The aim of the study was to explore, what kind of formal learning environment was formed with the playful learning materials and how teachers felt it supported children’s engaged and collaborative working.
