Abstract: Online students often miss the experience of hands-on laboratory activities which are crucial for science courses. To address this issue we have developed an infrastructure which uses tele-robotics to provide laboratory experiences to students enrolled in networking and tele-communication courses. The unique aspect of this experiment is that these are not virtual labs, but these are labs in which physical robots are situated and students can manipulate these robots through a web interface using various principles of networking. Students responses to this experiment have been very positive and revealed that they have achieved the learning outcomes for each of these labs in a very decisive manner.
