Share Paper: Screencasting Feedback for Better Learning

Abstract: A number of studies have demonstrated the benefits of providing students with voice feedback on their work. These include: A) Improved ability to understand nuance; B) Greater motivation; C) Less sense of isolation; D) Increased retention of both the feedback and the course content; and E) Increased sense of instructor caring. It has also been demonstrated that voice feedback allows instructors to provide more feedback in less time. Northcentral University has carried the process one step further by encouraging faculty and writing tutors to provide screencasting feedback on student work.
