Engaging the Digitally Wired Student With Discovery Labs to Explore STEM Concepts
Brief Paper: New Development
ID: 45233
Abstract: The millennial generation is heavily dependent on using and consuming technology for all their needs; however very few of them are being trained to make significant contributions to the growth and development of science and technology. Discovery Labs is an approach that leverages the millennial generation’s dependence on technology to motivate them to explore these technologies to learn STEM content and become contributors to the growth of Science and Technology. This paper presents the initial design of sample activities from Discovery Labs and observations from initial experiments with middle school students.
