Abstract: To engage deeply with the types of complex texts called for by Common Core, students need modern methods for literary analysis that connect to their life experiences. Building upon a background in digital and multimodal literacy, this article reflects on the use of Vine in the classroom for the analysis of Brave New World. Findings indicate that students, through the structured use of social media, were able to increase their engagement and understanding of this challenging text, as well as improve their ability to portray complex literary elements in multiple digital modes.
