Abstract: The quality of teacher is the key to success of education, especially on technology-related education. Programming is one of the main themes of computing education but pre-service teachers generally have less pedagogical content knowledge to teach programming. This study designed an undergraduate programming course to improve pre-service teacher’s programming pedagogical contents knowledge. Before designing the course, a pretest on the various concepts and topics of programming teaching was conducted. Participants had relatively low confidence on how to teach programming. Based on analysis of the result, a 20-hour educational content is developed.
