Agile University Renewing Region’s Business Structure with ICT
Abstract: In Finland the universities of applied sciences (UAS) give higher education which is based to the requirements of the working life, and pursue activities that renew the business structures of the region. The mostly appreciated characteristics of the high school graduates by the employers are professional expertise and special knowledge, human relation skills and capability to work in a diversified team. In Oulu UAS, the wanted characteristics of eLearning is agility related to the contents, and learning in projects originating from the working life. In developing the digitalization skills of teaching personnel, Learning by Doing with peer tutoring is functioning. Material should be easily customized, interactive, illustrative and giving added value from the technology. It should be produced by “standardized” tools and integrated to the normal learning process.
