Abstract: The rise of massive online delivery has led to appropriate concern about the desocialization of learning. Is a quest for personalized learning undoing established social ties? How can contemporary online hosts provide their distributed guests quality content and social presence in today's massive environments? Can we incorporate advanced technologies to offer broader distribution while simultaneously providing warm, personal, and even social learning? Maybe we can learn from Homer. This session will discuss considerations for establishing optimal online learning in today's complex environments by relying on appropriate design, social analytics, and, of course, ancient Greeks!
